So how do I care for this hair!?
We want you to get the most bang for your buck! So how long it lasts depends on you. The best way for your luscious locks to last would be treat it as if were your own hair! Human hair extensions need to be washed, conditioned and moisturized just like you would your own hair. Always try and use products that are alcohol free, because it’s a drying agent, and will dry out your extensions tremendously. With the right care your extensions will stay beautiful and stay soft wash after wash!
How do I brush/ comb my virgin hair?
Always brush hair with a paddle/soft bristle brush or detangling brush just like your natural hair starting from the bottom and working your way up to the top. This method will prevent tangles and shedding. We always recommend you support your attachment when brushing hair if it's already clipped in. We always recommend to brush them before they are clipped in to avoid any tangling. Always brush your Amanda Marshall Hair Extensions gently with a soft bristle brush before and after use.
Will my extensions shed?
Hair in general sheds, especially if it not attached to a scalp. But there should never be excessive shedding with you hair extensions, it’s normal to have a few hairs here and there but never a concerning amount of hair. Shedding will also depend on what you put in your extensions and how your extensions are being cared for.
What products should I use on Amanda Marshall Hair clip-in extensions?
We always recommend choosing salon quality products that are specifically formulated for color treated hair, as they will help keep the extensions soft and shiny.
Is it ok to use hot tools on my Amanda Marshall clip-in extensions?
Yes you can! Treat it just like you would your own hair and enjoy it. Just like your own hair use heat in moderation and always use heat protestant spray when using hot tools such as flat irons, wands and curling irons. Using super high temperatures while styling can damage the hair. Excessive heat can and will dry out your hair and shorten its lifespan.
Can I swim with Amanda Marshall Hair clip-in extensions?
We highly recommend that you avoid swimming when wearing your clip-in extensions. But If you do end up swimming with your hair extensions, ensure your hair is either down or tied into a simply ponytail. Do not put the hair extensions in a bun as this can cause severe tangling with both your extensions and natural hair. Chlorine and salt water may dry out your hair extensions, so ensure you wash your hair as soon as possible after swimming.
How do I store Amanda Marshall Hair clip-in extensions?
In a cool dry place, and preferably laid flat, this helps maintain the lifespan of your extensions and avoid dust and any potential tangling. Make sure you brush your hair before you stow them away to ensure your extensions stay in top condition for as long as possible.
Can I wash my clip-ins?
Absolutely, but only when they really need it. When you see that there is too much build-up of products and they become almost unmanageable or difficult to style, that’s your queue to wash those puppies!You should be able to have many wears before you have to wash your clip-in extensions. This will depend on how often you wear them and how much product you put on them. Staying away from shampoos with sulfate in them and use shampoos for color treated hair. After shampoo always, always, always condition and use hydrating or moister rich conditioner! Wash hair in lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly. Allow to air dry. Never wash you clips while they are still clipped in to your hair (Big no no). These measures will prolong the lifespan of your Amanda Marshall Hair clip-ins.
Can my clip-ins be dyed?
As we offer various shades, we do not recommend coloring the hair extensions unless it is absolutely necessary. All hair extensions have already undergone a color processing, so further coloring may cause permanent damage to the hair.
How long do clip-ins hair extensions typically last?
The lifespan of Amanda Marshall clip-ins can last anywhere from 3 – 12 months, depending on their usage and how they are cared, maintained and how often they are worn. Treat them well and they will last a long time.
